My tea set is inspired by the novel, The Shining, by Stephen King. We had to pick a piece of literature that would be used as inspiration for a tea set. I loved the movie The Shining and also read the book. I focused my project on two specific scenes in the book. The first was Jack breaking down the bathroom door using an axe which inspired my teapot. I used the axe as a handle and made it appear to be going through the tea pot like it goes through the door. The second is what he wrote over and over again on his typewriter which I wrote on the cups. Despite the time consuming and tedious process, it paid off. This project was challenging, but in the end it was very rewarding because I am happy with the final result.
